Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a park near my home, where the autumn leaves created the perfect natural backdrop. It’s one of my favorite places to shoot because of the seasonal colors and peaceful atmosphere.

Time

The photo was taken in the late afternoon when the warm light enhanced the rich autumn tones. The soft sunlight helped highlight the dog’s expression beautifully.

Lighting

I used only natural light, which was diffused by a thin cloud cover. It gave the image a soft and even feel without harsh shadows.

Equipment

I shot this with a Nikon Z8 and a NIKKOR Z 135mm f/1.8 S lens.

Inspiration

I was inspired by the deep bond I have with this dog and the beauty of autumn. I wanted to capture a moment that felt both calm and majestic.

Editing

Yes, I adjusted the tones to enhance the autumn colors and added a slight vignette to draw focus to the dog. The rest was kept natural to preserve the authenticity of the scene.

In my camera bag

I usually carry my Nikon Z8, a few prime lenses (85mm and 135mm), and a lens cloth — plus treats if I’m photographing dogs!

Feedback

Work with natural light and try to get down to the dog’s eye level. Be patient and make it a fun experience for the dog — it always shows in the photo.
