Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken as a test assignment during a food photography course with the wonderful photographer Eduard Kraft. Each student worked where and how they could. My photo was born, as they say, on the fly. I bought all the necessary products in advance, washed, cut, and laid out everything. I fried the potatoes and the cutlet. The background is made of black paper, and the lower part of the background is a shelf from a TV stand. I installed the light. A little hard work and everything is ready. My teacher spoke well of the work I did.

Time

I prepared during the day, and the photo was taken in the evening.

Lighting

In food photography, it is important to light up the photo, then the products will always look appetizing and natural. It is important to create a light that will be similar to the sun, or imitate another, creating the necessary atmosphere.

Equipment

Nikon D4 camera. Lens 85 mm, 1/8. Set of on-camera flashes with attachments and reflectors. And of course a tripod

Inspiration

The main source of inspiration was a training course, and the idea came about unexpectedly.

Editing

Post-processing was minimal. I removed dust particles, extra crumbs, worked a little with color and contrast.

At that time, I took the photo at home, so everything was at hand.

Feedback

I would advise you to work hard and not to despair if you don't succeed the first time. The main thing is to move forward! As my teacher said: "The road will be mastered by the one who walks it"
