Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot at Kahala Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Time

Morning.

Lighting

Lighting in the Fall is one of my favorite times to photograph in Hawaii. It is warm and bright.

Equipment

Canon EOS 70D, Canon EFS 18-55mmm.

Inspiration

We had Izzy for ten years before her passing. She loved being active and to be photographed. At low tide we went to the beach where she loved running in the ocean, always coming back to shore with joy and excitement.

Editing

Adjust lighting and some sharpening.

In my camera bag

I use only Canon equipment Canon EOS R, Canon EOS R8. Zoom lenses. 100-400mm. 18-55mm. 24-105mm. 28-135 mm. SIRUI tripod. ThinkTank Photo Rolling Case, B+H ND Filter 8x, Marumi ND 2.5 to ND500, Marumi DHG Circular PL.

Feedback

If you have a certain image you want to achieve in a photo of your dog, the main advice is to be patient. It takes a lot of trial and error from what lens to use, what the weather is like, and of course getting your special subject to cooperate.
