Behind The Lens

Location

The Gardar BA 64 is Iceland’s oldest steel ship, a former whaling and fishing vessel, now resting on the Patreksfjordur fjord shoreline in the Westfjords.

Time

4:25 AM

Lighting

I visited Iceland in June-July during "white nights" a natural phenomenon in which the setting sun doesn't fully dip below the horizon.

Equipment

Galaxy S24 Ultra

Inspiration

I was inspired by ship’s reflection on water.

Editing

Adjust lighting and some sharpening.

In my camera bag

I use Canon equipment Canon EOS R, Canon EOS R8. Zoom lenses. 100-400mm. 18-55mm. 24-105mm. 28-135 mm. SIRUI tripod. ThinkTank Photo Rolling Case, B+H ND Filter 8x, Marumi ND 2.5 to ND500, Marumi DHG Circular PL. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Smartphone Android.

Feedback

Early mornings work for me because there is usually little or no wind which helps create a smooth surface on the water for reflecting objects.
