I have wanted to take photos of wild mustangs for years. I have been to this park four times but have never seen any. That said, my luck finally changed on this day.
I thought they were some of the most beautiful wild animals I had ever seen. There they stood, five beautiful ladies in a row, looking at me. They looked so healthy and alert. I slowly walked toward them, murmuring and begging them not to run off. I wanted this shot so much I was chafing at the bit. (Sorry)
When I finished photographing them, I began to walk slowly away, and then they suddenly ran off. The reason, I discovered, was to my left. Without me realizing it, a large male Mustang had given them verbal snorts, which called them to him.
Thank you, dear ladies, for this image. Continue to live free.
