A Night Among the Ruins of Nora, Under the Milky Way

I wanted to revisit this photo of the Casa dell'atrio tetrastilo in Nora, which I took almost 10 years ago, because it was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. At the time, there were no photos of Nora with the Milky Way, let alone noteworthy night shots. The feeling I had was like a true discovery: seeing with my own eyes what the Romans could admire 2000 years ago, under the same starry sky.

Today, looking back at this photo, I’ve improved the post-processing of the Milky Way, and even though it's a simple 30-second shot taken with a Canon 5D Mark II and a 14mm lens, it remains one of the images I'm most attached to for everything it conveyed to me. ????

Walking among these ruins, under such a clear sky, made me feel immersed in a distant past, yet one that’s never forgotten. The stars, the mosaics, the columns... everything seemed to pulsate with life. In that moment, I felt a deep connection with those who, long ago, lived in these places, and with the vastness of the cosmos above me. An unforgettable experience that I still carry in my heart. ❤️
